白帝城(バイディチェン)

白帝城は、奉節(フォンジェ/Fengjie)県の末端から８キロのところ、瞿塘峡の入り口、北岸のところに位置する。
ここは長江三峡にある名高い名所旧跡である。
話によると、西漢に末ごろ、公孫述(Gongsun Shu)という人は蜀を手に入れ、彼の大殿の前に一つの井戸があり、中から時々白い煙が立ち昇り、公孫述は「これは白い龍が出ているんだ」と言い張り、自ら「白帝」と称し、白帝城もこの故、名づけられたのである。
白帝城はまた戦国時代(Three Kingdom Period)、蜀国の帝、劉備(Liu Bei)が孤児になる息子を託す場所である。
「託孤堂(The Hall of Entrustment)」は三国時代の夷陵の戦いを再現し、劉備は敗れて白帝城に引き揚げ、死際に国の将来、家のことを諸葛孔明(Zhuge
Liang)に託する時の情景を現している。
白帝城は更に詩城とも呼ばれる。ここの麗しき自然風景と数多くの文物古跡は無数の文人墨客を引き付けたのである。
唐の時代の李白(Li Bai)、杜甫(Du Fu)、白居易(Bai Juyi)、陸遊(Lu You)、劉禹錫(Liu
Yuxi)、范成大(Fan Chengda)などは、皆ここにやってきて山水の風景を見たり、詩や書を作ったりして、人を魅了させるような数多くの詩文を白帝城に残してくれた。
Baidicheng Town (White King Town) is located at the entrance of the Qutang
Gorge on the north bank of the river, 8 kilometers (5 miles) from Fengjie
county seat.
Here is one of the famous historical sites in the Three Gorges. It was
said that the end of the Western Han Dynasty, Gongsun Shu occupied Sichuan
Province. And as the well in front of his hall gave off white stream shaped
like a white dragon, Gongsun Shu called himself White Kingdom and named
the town White King Town so as to match the white dragon.
Baidicheng Town (White King Town) is also the place where Liu Bei entrusted
his son to Zhuge Liang. During the Three Kingdom Period, Liu Bei, King
of the Shu State, was at war with Wu State at Yiling County. Defeated,
he withdrew to Baidicheng Town (White King Town) and entrusted both the
state affairs and his private affairs to the care of Zhuge Liang, his prime
minister. The colorful assembly of statues in the Hall of Entrustment just
tell the story.
Baidicheng Town (White King Town) is also called Town of Poems. Both the
beautiful scenary and numerous historical sites with cultural relics attracted
mumberless poets and men of letters including Li Bai, Du Fu, Bai Juyi,
Lu You, Liu Yuxi, Fan Chengda and so on, who traveled here and left their
immortal poems behind.

「三峡の星」号の催しは、昼食後の指書（指による書道実演）と、夕食後の民族舞踊のショーとがあった。
私たちが見たのは民族舞踊のショーで、船客のほとんどが日本人だったので、アナウンスは中国語と日本語で行われた。
ショーダンサーは船内で働くスタッフだという。
ショータイムは立ち見も出るほどで、元気な熟年観光客たちの姿と、彼女たちのカラフルな衣装がとても印象に残った。
最後には選抜メンバーによる椅子取りゲーム(musical chairs)が行われた。
ここでも熟年観光客は元気だった。
