My Advice |
- At Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, when you transfer from international flight
to domestic for Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Hat Yai, Krabi and Samui;
you must proceed as direction board such as above, and then get through
passport control and obtain a connection ticket. Also there are some exchange
counters there, you may get Thai baht.
Even Bangkok Airways' economy class passengers are available boutique lounge
service such as free refreshment and free Internet access up to ten minutes. At Samui Airport, you can pick up your luggages at international passenger's area.
- Thai banks have imposed a 150-baht transaction fee for ATM withdrawals
from overseas accounts since April 2009. Bankers say the fees cover transaction
costs charged by network providers MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Worldwide.
(Bangkok Post - Local banks defend foreign ATM fees)
If you want to save a transaction fee, it would be better to carry on hard
currencies or withdraw plenty cash at a time. Needless to say, the risk
of property loss can be increase.
- Japan's Silver Week is five consecutive holidays in September. It is so-called
