I-Tsun Hotel (Hoshinoyu) at Beitou/Peitou Hot Spring | |
Beitou/Peitou Hot Spring , here is a passe red light district. It was here that the Japanese, great hot spring aficionados, built their first resort in Taiwan, Peitou. Throughout the Japanese era, the town was a bustling holiday center, and for some time a rowdy red light district. But licensed prostitution in this place already extinguished in 1979. At last "The red lights of Taipei's Snake Alley (Huahsi Street) extinguished on March 28, 2001, and Taipei's 100-year history of licensed prostitution has come to an end." said Taiwan's newspaper. Now, Peitou has become much more sedate in middle age, but many of the old Japanese inns, temples and villas have been preserved in pristine condition. |
