The Lao Airlines operated daily flights from Pakse to Siem Reap, and to
Phnom Penh twice a week.
Actually I planed visit of Angkor Complex in five years, but all flights
bound for Siem Reap were full.
Hence I altered a plan, and then I went to Sihanoukville via Phnom Penn.
If you are planning to Angkor Complex between December and January, you
would be obliged to move by land transport without making early reservations.
In such a case, I suggest booking a flight to Phnom Penn, and going to
Siem Reap by bus.
All foreign visitors are now able to obtain the visa on arrival at Pochentong
Airport in Phnom Penn.
Cambodia's e-Visa holders like me can pass the dedicated e-Visa lane directly
and hand over passport, e-Visa (2 copies), arrival/departure card.
So e-Visa holders can save time during busy times.

The inter-city bus terminals of Phnom Penn are located around the new central
market called Phsar Thmey.
The buses of G.S.T Express Bus bound for Sihanoukville depart at 7:15,
8:15, 12:30, 13:30; Phnom Penh Sorya Transport are 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 11:30, 12:45, 13:45; Rith Mony Bus Service are 7:30,
9:30, 12:00.
If you arrive Pochentong Airport in Phnom Penn by around 11:00 a.m., you may go to Sihanoukville on the same day.
Many motorbike taxi (motodup) drivers wait for travelers at Sihanoukville
bus terminal.
If you have any reservations, you will be taken to your accommodation through
bargaining.
Getting to Weather Station Hill (Victory Hill), its price ranged from 4,000
riel to 6,000 riel (US$1 to 2).
Without information about hotels or guest houses, Sihanoukville Visitors Guide can be obtained at tourist information near the bus terminal.
So I stayed at Mealy Chenda Guest House where it is recommended by my friend
and located near the Victory Beach.
The restaurant of the guest house served unrivaled seafood dishes, and
reasonable BBQ dinner (US$3.5) on Thursdays and Sundays.
In addition to this, J-Bar is located on the top floor of the guest house,
it is nice to drink cold beers with good sunset view.
Of course everybody can use these facilities, right?
