Nagoro Scarecrow Village
  • If you want to use ONLY buses for exploring in Oku-Iya, it's advisable to stay Iyashi-no-Onsenkyo Hotel. This hotel is 20 minutes walk from Sugeoi bus stop and you can use first Miyoshi City Bus to Nagoro. In addition, this hotel is Okuiya Sighseeing Monorail station nearby.
  • Having a car for touring the Iya valley is probably the best for flexibility and convenience due to limited public transport. It is very much worth the cost of rental, and it may even be cheaper than using a bus if more than one person is traveling. Please ask about details at the tourist office staff of Miyoshi City outside of Awa Ikeda station.
